What are the odds....

that a photographer would end up with a daughter who loaths the camera?

In case you couldn't tell, she was essentially telling me off.  Lots of "no, no" when I would ask if I could please take her picture.  I begged.  I attempted to bribe her - all to no avail.  She wouldn't budge.  The best shot I got was the first one.  God I love her

We are attempting to potty train - I bought a box of Huggies Saturday and even with my coupons I paid $14.00 for a mere 62 diapers.  She's been showing signs of being ready for a little while now - she won't keep a diaper on if it's wet, at all.  Even if she wets it once - off it goes.  She will go to her potty on her own and then come to tell me and get high fives.  So she's ready - it's just up to me to be concise and keep her motivated to go to the potty.

And on a completely different topic, we leave for our summer mountain vacation in 13 days.  We are all crawling the walls, ready to go.  We are staying for a full 7 days this time - I am so psyched.  We have plans on more exploring and hiking - it's one of our favorite things to do - go hunting for waterfalls.  It's just magic there - there isn't any other way to explain it.

The girls have 9 days of school left - this year has flown by.  Hailey's teacher told me she's going to really miss her - Hailey was tickled.  She's also been recommended for the Gifted program at the school - I thought I was going to burst I was so proud of her.  I told her she was much smarter than her mama ever was ;o)  She was also invited to math camp this summer - something those with an A average were invited to do - she is super excited about that.  And seriously there is no way to put into words how it feels to watch your child excel in something.  I am just so proud of her and so proud of Jillian and all that they have accomplished this year!!

In scrapping news, I was invited to join the Pink Paislee Team!!  I nearly fell out of my chair when I read the email!  I love their products and I am so excited to be a part of this amazingly talented team!

So, how was that for a random post? LOL!!  Here's more randomness, another favorite from a Marcus & Christina's wedding - this shot wasn't set up either - it was one of those things that just happened.  He was peeking out to look at her, not knowing he was in my shot and I snapped it!

Until next time....

Oooooh..

I've been a bad blogger again.  But I have a good excuse:

The June Freehand Scraps Kit showed up in my mail box the other day - and needless to say I had to dig in and start creating!!  Heidi has outdone herself again.  The little details - wow.  The fabric goodies - wow.  It's awesome!

I also had another wedding to shoot Saturday - it was honestly the easiest wedding I've shot!  The couple wanted just a few photos - the ceremony was simple & intimate - there wasn't a lot of fuss or stress, it was wonderful!  Here is a sneak or two:

I also have to brag on my girls - they rocked the CRCT!!!  Jillian scored a perfect on her Reading portion, she only missed 2 in Math and 3 in Language Arts!!  Hailey had the highest score in Reading & Language Arts in her class!!!!  We are so proud of both of them - they worked so hard!!

Alright, I'd better head outside with the girls while the weather is nice.  We had rain all weekend - blech!  Have a great Monday!!

So it's been what...

8 days since I last posted?  Oye!  We've had quite a week over here - I got sick with some nasty upper respiratory crap - and then Mac caught it.  Now Jillian & Addison are throwing up - good times.

On a positive note, Mac surprised me with a night to ourselves - we so needed it.  We went out to eat, just hung out and talked.  It felt like we were passing by eachother, living separate lives for a couple of weeks there.  He was so working crazy hours and totally swamped with work.  I was always busy, either with the kids or editing photos or catching up on assignments.  It was nice to have a night all to ourselves, to reconnect to recharge.  It made me realize that we seriously need to set aside time for just us - it's important to our relationship and our mental health!

Speaking of editing photos, I've been an editing fool - I have some more to share from Christa & Allen's wedding, I know they have been dying to see some more!

and my absolute hands down favorite so far:

This just captures them - light hearted, always laughing - they are such an amazing couple.

I'm also cleaning out my camera bag - I have a Canon 28-135 & Tamron 70-300 up for sale.  If you are interested please email me:  mommyzone@hotmail.com.  They are both in excellent condition!!

Ok, that's all for tonight - who knows, maybe I'll actually get to post tomorrow too LOL!

*cough* *cough*

I'm sick.  I caught Addison's case of the sniffles - hopefully it will pass quickly - I really hate being sick!

Speaking of Addison - I caught this picture:

and it puts the biggest smile on my face.  Doesn't she look all sweet & innocent?  It's rare to catch a smile, I usually end up with this:

4302009 009 copyrsz

That look of, "oh, is that what's up?" LOL!  She's talking in complete sentences these days but it's not all clear and I know she gets irritated with me when I ask her repeatedly "what did you say baby?"  She gives me an exasperated look and repeats herself - but sometimes she just walks away like " I give up - this woman is hopeless" LOL!!

I managed to get in my scrap room last night and created this layout for Scrapjazz:

Sjlomay 009rsz2

Sjlomay 004

Sjlomay 005

That layout took on a life of it's own - I started out with something in mind and halfway through it evolved LOL!  Used lots of Glimmer Mist & Jenni Bowlin :o)  I'm working on some Mother's Day goodies for the Memory Makers Masters Blog now - hoping to have those up today or tomorrow!

Alright, I'm off to drink some hot tea and eat a little something in hopes it will ease this sore throat of mine.  Have a wonderful day!!

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Gotta' love a day dedicated to all things scrappy ;o)  There are seriously all kinds of cool things going on today -  don't know what to hit first LOL!  In honor of NSD, I thought I'd share a layout that I created for Freehand Scraps  with the awesome new May kit!

Freehandmay 003rsz

I really loved the way this one came together - I originally started with just 2 photos LOL!  I have to say again, this kit was amazing - I still have stuff left over!  Here is another one:

Freehandmay 001rsz

I don't scrap 8 1/2 x 11 too often and I find myself missing it!!   And here is a layout I created for Prima :

Primaapr 004rsz

I seriously love their new Say It In Pearls!!!  I can't get enough of them :o)

And, because I can't not share some photos of my girlies:

Hailey is back to her old self - and she's so happy to be able to eat again LOL!  She enjoys her food - just like her mama ;o)  Alright, I'm off - I promised lunch and going to the park to feed the ducks :o)  Have a great Saturday!!

One More Sneak...

of May's Freehand Scraps Kit - I still have leftovers - even after 4 projects!!  This kit was huge!  Don't forget to check it out on the 1st!  I created some of my favorite layouts in a while with this kit :o)

Freehandmay 010rsz

and my girl:

Aquarium 063 copyrsz

is feeling a bit better, she's able to eat some crackers and drink Gatorade without it bothering her stomach.  I kept her home today too and she's definitely on the mend - thank God.  Hopefully the rest of us will stay healthy!!

I'm pulling that RAK together - I have so much stuff, and seriously a lot of it needs to go - so I might split it up into a couple of RAKS :o)  This room is so packed - I couldn't possibly use all of it.  It's a little insane!

Oh, I made a new post to the Memory Makers Masters Blog - each of the Masters used one of Becky's amazing sketches:  here is mine:

Freehandmay 005

Check out the post here: Masters Blog and be sure to check out the work of the other incredible Masters!!

Alright, that's all I've got for today - have a great one!!

Quite a crew...

we hit the Georgia Aquarium Saturday:

Aquarium 003 copyrsz

Aquarium 002 copyrsz

(notice Addison is, as per usual, turning away from the camera)

We had a wonderful time - I love seeing how the girls faces light up when they watch all the fish, the whales, the sharks.  This was Addison's first time and she loved it.  She would squeal at the fish, point and yell "fishy!"  It was adorable.

Unfortunately we brought back a souvenier - a stomach virus.  Hailey and Nathan (our friend's son) started throwing up this morning.  This makes stomach virus #3 for us this year - I'm so done!!  Seriously, one wasn't enough??  So now we're playing the bleach everything game - and keeping the girls as seperated as we can *sigh.*  The worst part for Hailey is that when the anti-nausea medicine does it's thing, she's starving but still can't eat - and she doesn't understand that - so then she gets mad at me (cause I'm evil and all, ya' know?)  Hopefully this will pass quickly *fingers crossed.*

Alright, I'm off to scrap some more...have a great one!!

Watch Out...

I'm on a roll...3 days of posting in a row!!  I'm going to have to make this one quick though, I have a super cranky baby girl who wants her mama to come to bed with her ;o)  We're taking the girls to the Georgia Aquarium, along with some friends of ours, tomorrow.  We can't wait!

Alright without further ado (or rambling) here are the sneaks for the Freehand Scraps May Kit.  This kit is serious folks, serious.  There are tons of gorgeous embellishments, tons of gorgeous papers and the colors -heaven.

Fhsmay 001

Fhsmay 004

Fhsmay 005

Fhsmay 007

I am nowhere near done creating with this kit - I have plans for some more scrapping on Sunday :o)  Alright...I'd better leave it at that before Addison gets really mad at me!  Have a great weekend!

April 23, 2009

I promised...

sneaks of the May Freehand Scraps Kit - unfortunately I wasn't able to get photos today - I was so busy running errands!  Not to mention, after an exhausting trip into Kroger & Wal-Mart with Addison and Jillian in tow - I barely felt like moving when we made it home.  Addison was in a "mood" and managed to pull a display of Chapstick down - Chapstick went rolling everywhere.  It was one of those moments where I was contemplating just running & screaming as fast as I could.  Instead I dropped down onto my knees and started gathering the tubes of Chapstick that had rolled everywere.  I'm sure it was quite amusing for the other customers...

Anyhoo, I realized I never shared the layouts I created with the April Freehand Scraps Kit - Serendipity.  It was one of my favorite kits so far - the colors are so beautiful.  It's still available too - so go grab one, you won't be sorry!

I also wanted to share a LO I did for the Prima April Build A Page Sketch - this sketch was just awesome, I loved it!!  I usually struggle with sketches, but this one just flowed so well for me:

Tommorrow I promise to have sneaks for the May Freehand Scraps Kit!  Also, that RAK I promised uh, like a couple of weeks ago *blush*...

Some More From Marcus & Christina's Wedding...

Have I mentioned how much I loved shooting this wedding?  These two are so much fun to be around...they kept us laughing, even when I was dragging them through underbrush!  They were troopers!!

I just love this one - Christina was a natural in front of the camera!

Flurrwedding 098 copyrsz

I just love how they are looking at eachother here...

Flurrwedding 578 copyrsz

And this was the very last shot of the day....

Flurrwedding 582 copyrsz

Gotta' love some flare ;o)

I have had some people email me and ask how I'm loving the Sigma 24-70 2.8 - and truth is, I love it.  It hasn't left my camera since I got it!  In fact I shot last weekend's wedding with it and it was so versatile!  I shot detail shots with it and ceremony/portrait shots.  It was so wonderful not having to constantly change out lenses!  So, if you are thinking of a fixed zoom - go for it, I'm so happy that I did!

I'm off...tomorrow I will have some Freehand Scraps Kit sneaks to share -  you will love this one!
